Robert has particular expertise in securities litigation, where he is one of the most experienced lawyers in Canada, having dealt with cases involving misrepresentations, fraud, insider trading, registration and disclosure violations. He also handles oil and gas disputes, shareholder and corporate litigation and employment matters.

Robert served as Chair of the Civil Litigation Subsection of the CBA for Southern Alberta. He has been a board member for Heritage Soccer. He has coached both youth soccer and hockey and volunteered with Beavers and Cub Scouts. With his wife and son Nicolas, Robert enjoys skiing, golf, running, hiking and travel.
